About the work from home job/internship
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented proofreader specializing in mathematics to join our team. You will work closely with our team of writers, editors, and subject matter experts to ensure that all mathematical materials meet high-quality standards.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Proofreading and Editing: Review mathematical content, including textbooks, research papers, educational materials, and assessments, to identify and correct errors in grammar, syntax, spelling, and mathematical accuracy
2. Mathematical Accuracy:
a. Verify mathematical formulas, equations, and calculations for correctness, consistency, and logical flow
b. Ensure that mathematical concepts are accurately presented and explained
3. Style and Formatting:
a. Ensure that mathematical content adheres to established style guides and formatting standards
b. Maintain consistency in notation, terminology, and presentation throughout the material
4. Collaboration:
a. Collaborate with writers, editors, and subject matter experts to resolve any mathematical or editorial issues
b. Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness of mathematical content
5. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure that all mathematical content meets the highest quality standards and is suitable for the intended audience
6. Documentation:
a. Maintain accurate records of changes, revisions, and feedback related to mathematical content
b. Document proofreading processes and procedures for future reference
7. Stay updated on mathematical concepts, theories, and best practices in mathematical communication and education

Other requirements

4. Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
5. Proficiency in using proofreading tools, software, and mathematical typesetting software (e.g., LaTeX).
