About the work from home job/internship
Are you a talented product design enthusiast looking for an exciting internship opportunity? This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about product design and manufacturing, particularly in the furniture & lifestyle sector, and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a pre-registered startup environment.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Creating CAD models of products and furniture and prototypes.
2. Assisting in the fabrication process using CNC machinery, ensuring precision and quality in the final products.
3. Participating in material sourcing, evaluating suppliers for quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Taking part in brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas for new product ideas
5. Supporting the product development cycle from concept through to production, including troubleshooting design issues and suggesting improvements.
6. Coordinating with material suppliers and fabricators (CNC cutting, Lathe, CNC Turning)
7. Helping maintain documentation of design specifications and manufacturing processes.
8. Communicating effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.

Other requirements
Candidates based in Mumbai are preferred, as this will facilitate in-person visits to CNC fabricators and material suppliers. Commute expenses for these trips will be additionally reimbursed.

Additional information
Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Product / Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Shapr 3D or similar.
3. Strong design sensibility with an awareness of current trends is essential.
4. Previous experience or strong interest in CNC machining and furniture design is highly desirable.
5. Experience or familiarity with woodworking and joinery techniques is a plus.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
