About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Merchant acquisition: Identify, pitch, and onboard new merchants. Develop and execute strategies to achieve monthly and quarterly targets.
2. Lead generation & pipeline management: Independently manage the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.
3. Relationship building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with merchants, providing them with necessary support and guidance to ensure their success on ONDC.
4. Market research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine acquisition strategies.
5. Reporting & analysis: Track and report key metrics related to merchant acquisition, analyze data for insights, and suggest actionable improvements.
6. Collaborative efforts: Work closely with the marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.

1. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a proven track record in merchant acquisition or business development, preferably in e-commerce, digital marketplaces, or related sectors.

2. Self-starter: A go-getter with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects with minimal supervision.

3. Strong negotiation skills: Capable of handling tough negotiations and building mutually beneficial partnerships.

4. Excellent communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas simply and effectively.

5.Tech-savvy: Comfortable with digital platforms and tools; experience with ONDC or similar e-commerce platforms is a plus.

6. Problem-solver: Quick to identify issues and develop effective solutions, always with a focus on achieving targets.
