About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Customer Engagement:
Greet customers warmly and ascertain their needs.
Provide assistance to customers in selecting products and services.
Ensure customers have a pleasant and personalized shopping experience.

2. Product Knowledge:
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the products, services, and promotions offered by the store.
Offer expert advice and information to customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions.

3. Sales and Upselling:
Meet and exceed sales targets set by the store or management.
Promote current sales and discounts to increase sales and customer retention.
Upsell additional products and services where appropriate.

4. Customer Service:
Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Provide after-sales support when required, ensuring a continuous positive relationship with customers.

5. Merchandising and Stock Management:
Ensure that the store displays are neat, well-organized, and stocked with products.
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, reporting low-stock items to management.

6. Point of Sale (POS) Transactions:
Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the cash register.
Handle cash, credit, or debit card transactions, providing receipts and processing returns or exchanges when necessary.

7. Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with colleagues and management to meet store sales goals.
Assist in training and mentoring new team members when required.

8. Market Knowledge:
Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings to better serve the customer.

9. Store Cleanliness and Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store, including product displays and storage areas.

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; further education in retail, sales, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle customer inquiries effectively.
Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions.
Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
