About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure management: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
2. Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD): Develop and maintain automated pipelines for build, testing, and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI
3. Configuration management: Manage configuration drift and automate configuration management using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
4. Monitoring and alerting: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues. Utilize tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack for monitoring and alerting
5. Containerization: Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate container deployment and management using Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
6. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement Infrastructure as Code principles using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
7. Security: Implement and maintain security best practices in infrastructure and code, including vulnerability scanning, security hardening, and access control
8. Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to streamline the build and release processes, ensuring code quality and reliability
9. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding
10. Troubleshooting and support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime

Who can apply

Other requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

2. Minimum of two years of experience in a DevOps or related role

3. Proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

4. Strong scripting skills in languages like Shell, Python, or Ruby

5. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI

7. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes

8. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

11. Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred qualifications:

1. Certification in relevant technologies such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Certified Jenkins Engineer

2. Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing

3. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices

4. Familiarity with the Git version control system

The E-Health Research Center (EHRC) @ IIIT-B is an interdisciplinary research center that spreads across all areas of research interests in the institute towards doing applied research in the use of information & communication technologies (ICTs) to meet the healthcare needs of the under-served and marginal population groups in India and similar regions across the world, with an objective of improving affordability, accessibility and availability of technology solutions covering [medical] devices, [health] data, and delivery [platforms and models].
