About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, and manage scalable and resilient infrastructure using cloud platforms and DevOps tools.
2. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment of applications, minimizing manual processes and enhancing deployment frequency.
3. Set up monitoring systems to proactively detect performance issues and troubleshoot system incidents using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
4. Develop and enforce network security policies, including firewall management, access controls, and VPN configurations to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
5. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and audits to identify and address security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
6. Respond to security incidents, analyze threats, and deploy countermeasures to safeguard systems and data; maintain an incident response plan.
7. Ensure compliance with industry security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) and maintain detailed documentation of security practices, infrastructure designs, and standard operating procedures.
8. Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and IT staff to align infrastructure and security practices with development goals and timelines.
9. Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions on best practices for DevOps and network security principles to foster a culture of security awareness within the organization.

Other requirements

1. Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI; strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for automating tasks.

2. Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, with a strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure management and security best practices.

3. In-depth knowledge of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN management, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

4. Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration for scalable and efficient deployments, including service meshes and monitoring.

5. Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK stack for proactive system monitoring and logging best practices.

6. Understanding of secure database management practices for systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, including encryption and access control.

7. Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for consistent configuration across multiple environments.

8. Strong knowledge of Git for version control, ensuring efficient collaboration within DevOps workflows and continuous integration practices.
