The editor is responsible for ensuring language correctness in accordance with specified guidelines and style guides. We are looking for someone who feels excited about working with a tightly-knit team of passionate people to deliver the best quality of educational content within limited timelines impacting lakhs of students and thousands of teachers across the country.
Key responsibilities:
1. Work on editorial development of content and supplemental learning materials in print and digital form (Editorial development includes generating content ideas, researching and coordinating editorial ideas, developing a style guide for projects, developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading content, coordinating writing and editing assignments, reviewing acquired content, and ensuring compliance to local and global editorial standards and curriculum frameworks)
2. Perform deadline-driven quality assurance checks and reviews of manuscripts edited by SMEs and freelancers to ensure that poorly worded sentences have been edited for better readability and clarity, and that user requirements are adhered to and subject-specific conventions are followed
3. Interact with talented freelance SMEs and editors from around the country and proactively providing feedback on their editing assignments
4. Preparare QA/QC guidelines and checklists for various products
5. Work on periodical training and development of editorial and content teams
6. Manage a pipeline of projects through planning, resource allocation, scheduling and tracking of work progress
7. Understand user and industry requirements and adapt the approach accordingly
Skills needed:
1. Knowledge of computers, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, good typing and formatting skills
2. Fluency in English flawless written and communication skills
3. Accuracy, tidiness and unparalleled attention to detail
4. Willingness to interact proactively with in-house and virtual colleagues
5. Openness to feedback
