Applications are invited for the junior research fellow (JRF) position at PPISR in biological sciences from young enthusiastic students for a PhD program awarded by MAHE, Manipal.
Key responsibilities:
1. Conducting primary research as per the project requirements
2. Handling chemicals and reagents as per the protocol
3. Handling and maintenance of expensive instruments
4. Analyzing and processing the generated data
5. Communicating work plans and data in weekly scientific laboratory meetings
6. Undertaking scholarly research activities such as scientific literature analysis and showing keenness to keep abreast of the current field to effectively communicate academic thinking
7. Completing the project and submitting the PhD in the stipulated time
Additional details:
1. Research area: Therapeutic applications of bioconjugates and biochemical modification of protein
2. Duration: 3 years (one year initially and extendable based on the appraisal report)
3. Fellowship: Rs. 20,000/- PM fixed

1. Essential qualifications: Master’s in any of the branches of biological sciences/chemical sciences/clinical sciences with a minimum of 60% of marks or equivalent
2. Students who completed their master’s degree and are expecting the results also can apply
3. Students who have cleared competitive exams such as GATE, NET, CSIR JRF/LS will be given preference
4. Desired experience: Having prior experience in microbiology and microbial technology, biochemical assays, basics of chemistry of biological reactions, experience in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification, knowledge of human physiology and biochemistry, proven records of good communication and writing skills are desirable
5. Fresh graduates who are quick learners, able to work on challenging projects, and ready to work in groups are favored
