1. Identify, investigate, and resolve users' problems with computer software and hardware
2. Work on fielding support calls, chats, emails, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns
3. Consult with users to determine steps and procedures taken to identify and resolve the problem
4. Apply your knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems
5. Guide users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include the use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions
6. Collaborate with other staff to research and resolve problems
7. Collaborate with programmers to explain errors and/or recommend modifications in programs
8. Arrange services by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products
9. Maintain knowledge of technology innovations and trends
10. Perform other related duties as assigned
