All of us will live to experience the inevitable process of aging. It is important to promote and extend healthy active life and minimize the period spent in dependency. Many seniors today say that they would prefer to stay in their homes or "age in place" for as long as possible. However, as people get older, a number of age-related conditions can make living at home increasingly difficult. Challenges like cognitive decline and decreased mobility make living at home without assistance difficult and unsafe.
You may be used to handling everything yourself, dividing up duties with your spouse, or relying on family for help around the home. If the idea of moving to a retirement community, assisted living facility, or nursing home isn't appealing, home care services will be able to help keep you living in your own home for longer. At MySeniors, we are constantly trying to bridge the gap between the desires and capabilities of the people who once taught us the things we do today.
