1. Interact with clients one on one and understand their requirements
2. Liaise with craftsmen, or with various departments of the company: marketing, production, supply, and sales, regarding the process of manufacture
3. Plan the design and select suitable materials including wood, metal, plastic, or textiles
4. Use software like 3ds max and SketchUp.
5. Create technical drawings and specifications for furniture production
6. Build and create sample models for production teams (e.g. carpenters and woodworkers) to work from
7. Suggest ways to improve furniture items already manufactured
8. Keep up-to-date with current trends in furniture design
Skills & Requirements:
1. Have strong verbal and written communication skills in English
2. Bachelor's degree in furniture design, industrial design, product design, or a related field (preferred)
3. Basic knowledge of furniture design (woodworking) and manufacturing
4. Strong behavioral attributes such as orientation towards teamwork, ethics, and crisp and meaningful communication
5. Proficiency in 3D modeling and technical drawing software
6. Intuitiveness to understand design and curiosity to learn and work with different materials
