Optical Technician Job

Key responsibilities:

1. Repair, adjust, and maintain frames and sunglasses in the store
2. Operate precision lens polishers, grinders, centerer-edgers, and lens mounters to fabricate optical elements
3. Cut, grind, and polish lenses according to prescribed specifications and requirements
4. Assemble and mount lenses into frames with meticulous attention to detail
5. Ensure quality control standards are met throughout the fabrication and assembly process
6. Inspect finished products for defects or imperfections and make necessary adjustments
7. Maintain and calibrate optical equipment to ensure accuracy and performance
8. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries in the workplace
9. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow efficiency and productivity

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in optics is preferred
2. Proven experience working as an Optical Technician or in a related field
3. Proficiency in operating precision optical equipment and machinery
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
5. Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
6. Familiarity with optical terminology, materials, and fabrication techniques
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
8. Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
9. Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship
