A Purchase Manager in the packaging industry plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability of high-quality packaging materials, optimizing procurement costs, and maintaining efficient supply chain operations to support manufacturing and distribution activities.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement and planning for all plant locations and the Mumbai office
Tracking and arranging material on time
New Vendor development
Working in Tally Prime environment approval for PR & PO
Raw material costing and comparisons and keeping costs under control
Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and supplies to prevent stockouts and excess inventory. Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize carrying costs while ensuring adequate supply.
Up to date with present market conditions and future material availability
Co-ordination with the Sales/marketing department for new packaging development
Approvals and suggestions for new development samples and online proofing
Keeping a check on the purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery & payments of vendors
Co-ordinate with all plants & Analyze packaging material-related complaints
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish quality standards for packaging materials and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Awareness about new trends & advancements in technology & timely feedback to the management in terms of new packaging materials available in the market
Skills:
Strong in Price negotiation and costing of printing and packaging material
Strong knowledge of every process, quality, and improving system
Qualifications And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in international procurement is a plus.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the flexible packaging or plastic industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Customer-focused with a positive and professional attitude.
Minimum Experience of 5 Years
