Backend Integration Engineer Job (Remote)

Key responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain high-quality integration solutions between our LXP and various third-party systems (PMS, HRMS, etc.)
2. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret integration requirements, translating complex business processes into effective technical solutions
3. Ensure secure data exchange by implementing reliable protocols and complying with data privacy regulations
4. Diagnose and resolve integration issues, offering prompt and efficient support to both internal teams and external partners
5. Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to integration frameworks to boost performance, reliability, and system scalability
6. Document all integration processes thoroughly and create comprehensive user guides for both internal purposes and client assistance

Must-have skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
2. Demonstrable experience in software development with a strong focus on system integration
3. Expertise in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python
4. In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, web services, and AWS Cloud services
5. Proficiency in data formats (JSON, XML), communication protocols (HTTP, HTTPS), and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT)
6. Strong background in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and experience with ETL tools
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail
8. Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating efficiently across diverse teams

Nice-to-have skills:

1. Prior experience with educational technology or Learning Management Systems (LMS)
2. Familiarity with additional cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud) and API management tools
3. Experience with Agile development methodologies
4. Knowledge of data security and privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA)
