Key responsibilities:

1. Drive automation efforts to reduce manual work and increase efficiency across all environments
2. Willing to own infrastructure for multiple products across different tech stacks, continuously learning
3. Maintain and improve service reliability, availability, and performance through proactive problem detection
4. Participate in designing and implementing infrastructure, applications, and tools for hybrid cloud computing
5. Engage in debugging, performance tuning, and capacity planning
6. Participate in incident management, diagnosis, mitigation, and root cause analysis
7. Work across multiple tech stacks across product lines, demonstrating adaptability and quick learning
8. Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment reliability
9. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, implementing learnings as appropriate
10. Support pre-launch services through system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews

1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

2. An advanced degree is preferred

3. Proven experience of 2–6 years as an SRE or a similar role in a software development setting

4. Expertise in multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and private cloud infrastructures

5. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell, Ruby, etc.) and popular software development languages (Java, JavaScript, etc.)

6. Understanding of network protocols, database management, and operating system administration

7. Expertise in Linux system administration, cloud infrastructure management, and DevOps practices

8. Familiarity with containers and orchestration services, such as Docker and Kubernetes

9. Expertise in using monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK Stack, New Relic, and Prometheus) and in logging best practices

10. Hands-on experience administering relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), messaging queues (Kafka), and NoSQL databases (Redis, Elasticsearch)

11. Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet)

12. Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in a production environment

13. Innovative mindset, willing to experiment with cutting-edge technologies for higher ROI

14. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

15. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

16. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
