Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.
We are looking for highly-motivated, committed teachers for primary and secondary section, who are passionate about teaching and imparting quality education to children from marginalized communities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare innovative lesson plans and teaching aids on time.
2. Monitor the progress of children by correcting books and assignments regularly.
3. Maintain close links with co-curricular teachers and to coordinate with social worker and counsellor for the children's requirements.
4. Actively participate in the parents meeting and provide feedback on the progress of the child to the parents.
5. Complete administrative responsibilities assigned on time.
6. Give equal attention to children of different abilities in the class.
7. Be attentive and observant of the children's needs.
8. Motivate and enthuse the children.
9. Communicate with children in a respectful and positive manner.
10. Be flexible, open to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities.

It works in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and is currently running three MCGM schools- The Pali Chimbai Municipal School in Bandra (West), The Pereirawadi Municipal School in Bandra (West) and The Kherwadi Municipal School in Bandra (East). In Igatpuri, Aseema works with very poor tribal children who live in remote tribal villages to provide them with quality education. Today we reach out to more than 2300 students and besides the finest quality of education, we provide them with nutritious meals and also attend to their physical and mental well-being. Co-curricular activities like sports, art, music, dance, judo, and yoga are carried out in all our schools so that the children receive a well-rounded and holistic education.
