Video Editor Job

Key responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with clients or directors to understand project requirements and develop shot lists
2. Plan shoot logistics, including locations, equipment, and crew
3. Ensure the camera and lighting equipment is set up correctly and in working order
4. Guide actors or interviewees to deliver desired performances or messages
5. Operate camera and equipment to capture high-quality footage according to shot list
6. Address technical issues such as lighting problems or equipment malfunctions
7. Keep track of shot lists, notes, and documentation to ensure all necessary footage is captured
8. Complete shooting within an agreed-upon timeframe to stay on schedule and within budget
9. Review all footage and select the best takes for editing
10. Arrange selected footage into a rough edit following the script or storyboard
11. Incorporate client or director feedback into rough cut
12. Enhance the visual appeal of the video by adding effects, transitions, titles, and graphics
13. Edit and mix audio tracks to achieve the desired balance and quality
14. Adjust the color and tone of the footage for consistency and enhanced look
15. Make revisions to edit based on feedback until the final version meets client or director satisfaction
