Key responsibilities:

1. GST Registration: Assist in obtaining and maintaining GST registration for the business.
2. Data Collection: Gather and verify relevant data from accounting records for accurate GST filing, including sales and purchase invoices.
3. GST Calculation: Calculate GST liability based on the applicable rates for different goods and services.
4. Filing Returns: Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.) accurately and within the due dates.
5. Challan Generation: Generate payment challans for GST dues and ensure timely payments to the government.
6. Reconciliation: Reconcile the GST returns with the books of accounts and the GST portal, ensuring consistency.
7. Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in GST laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence.
8. Addressing Queries: Respond to queries from the GST department regarding returns filed, including notices and assessments.
9. Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of all GST-related transactions and filings for audit purposes.
10. Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on GST filings, liabilities, and input tax credits for management review.
11. Training and Support: Train and assist junior staff in understanding GST procedures and compliance.
12. Audit Assistance: Support internal and external audits related to GST compliance.
