Accountant Job

Key responsibilities:

1. TDS Calculation: Accurately calculate the TDS amount to be deducted based on the applicable rates for various payments.
2. TDS Deduction: Ensure that TDS is deducted from payments made to vendors, employees, and other parties as per the Income Tax Act.
3. Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of all transactions, TDS certificates, and related correspondence to ensure compliance and facilitate audits.
4. Filing Returns: Prepare and file TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.) within the due dates, ensuring all necessary details are included.
5. Challan Generation: Generate and verify TDS payment challans for remittance to the government.
6. Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile TDS records with accounting books and Form 26AS to ensure accuracy.
7. Addressing Queries: Handle any queries or notices from the Income Tax Department related to TDS.
8. Update on Tax Laws: Stay updated on changes in tax laws, rates, and compliance requirements to ensure adherence.
9. Communication: Liaise with banks, tax consultants, and internal teams regarding TDS matters.
10. Reporting: Prepare periodic reports on TDS deductions and filings for management review.
11. Training: Train and guide junior staff on TDS procedures and compliance.
12. Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits related to TDS compliance.
