Cancer Aid Society has been engaged in the fight against cancer and other non-communicable diseases for the last three decades, which kill 74% of people globally. The issue was taken up by the United Nations in September 2011 at a high-level meeting for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, where the Cancer Aid Society participated along with the global governments (including the Government of India) who signed a political declaration followed by the review meeting in July 2014.
