About the work from home job/internship

Join us for a short yet exciting opportunity to dive into the world of handcrafted textiles! This hands-on experience will not only let you work with some beautiful crafts but also give you a chance to bring your creative ideas to life.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Find affordable and skilled tailors or workshops in the city.
2. Unleash your creativity. Design and present 10-15 unique garment ideas.
3. Bring designs to life. Collaborate with tailors to create samples.

We'll meet twice a week for discussions, shortlisting, and improvements.

Additional information

Stipend structure: This is a performance-based internship. In addition to the minimum-assured stipend, you will also be paid a performance-linked incentive (₹ 100 per design).

About Assal

Assal means 'Authentic' in Marathi. We are a conscious clothing brand exploring traditional handmade textiles and crafts from different regions in India and bringing them to people in timeless pieces of clothing. Our work includes traveling to these places, documenting the process carried out by artisans, and making people more aware of those gems by sharing our discoveries. It has so far taken us to Karnataka(Ilkal, Khun), Telangana(Ikat), Andhra Pradesh(Mangalagiri, Kalamkari), Maharashtra(Kolhapuri chappals), Gujarat(Ajrakh, Kala Cotton) and most recently Rajasthan(Leheriya, Bagru). We are based in Mumbai and travel all over India, one state at a time, trying to bridge the gap between artisans and those who appreciate their artistry.
