About the work from home job/internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Conduct extensive market research on the existing elderly care industry in India and provide a summary to the founder. Incorporate his feedback multiple times to refine the final report.
2. Research elderly care industries in developed countries like Singapore, Japan, and Europe, where the industry is more mature, and summarize key learnings from these markets.
3. Lead consumer research from start to finish to understand the need for at-home elderly care solutions in India. The goal is to identify demographics, psychographics, and market fit from this research to develop the go-to-market (GTM) strategy.
4. Prepare Presentations:
Create visually appealing and informative presentations. Ensure all presentations are accurate, concise, and aligned with the founder's vision and messaging.
5. Meeting Coordination and Follow-Up:
Attend meetings with the CEO, take detailed notes, summarize key points, and identify action items.
6. Prepare follow-up documents, reports, and presentations based on discussions and decisions made during meetings.
7. Also, help with ideas for a better name for the company.

About Kanak Ghiya
We aren't a company yet, and we don't even have a name (yet). What we do have is an observation that caught my attention during my last trip to India. I noticed that many young people are moving abroad or to the top eight cities in India. In general, they are starting to live away from their parents or grandparents, who are usually at least 50 years old (on average, around 55-60). This market is projected to reach USD 12Bn by 2030 according to a report by Colliers.
Young people today often face a tough choice: they can either stay with their parents to take care of them or focus on their careers while worrying about their parents living alone without proper care. The elderly care industry in India is still in its early stages and isn't prepared to meet the growing demand in the coming years. It also lacks innovation, making it ripe for disruption.
