A. Experience & background:
1. Prior experience in video editing, preferably in the NGO, social impact, or documentary sector.
2. Strong portfolio showcasing storytelling skills and impactful video projects.
3. Experience working on humanitarian, environmental, or advocacy campaigns is a plus.
B. Technical skills:
1. Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
2. Knowledge of motion graphics and animation software (e.g., After Effects, Canva) is a plus.
3. Basic audio editing and color correction skills.
C. Creativity & storytelling:
1. Ability to create engaging and emotionally compelling videos that align with NGO missions.
2. Strong sense of visual composition, pacing, and narrative flow.
3. Understanding of different storytelling styles suited for various platforms.
D. Soft Skills & work ethic:
1. Passion for social causes and commitment to making a positive impact.
2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
3. Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback effectively.
4. Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects.
E. Adaptability & knowledge:
1. Familiarity with video formats, aspect ratios, and best practices for social media platforms.
2. Awareness of ethical storytelling and sensitivity to diverse cultures and communities.
