About the work from home job/internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Conduct a review of the literature to synthesize reports
2. Collect data from several heterogeneous data sources including news articles, fact-checks, healthcare documentation, and social media data
3. Build and deploy web-based dashboards and tools to monitor the online information ecosystem, across multiple social platforms
4. Use AI tools to draw insights from social media user interactions, engagement, and behavior
5. Benchmark, audit, and evaluate the performance of existing AI pipelines we have built to analyze data
6. Use large language models and word embeddings to analyze large volumes of text with low latency
7. Build AI-based search pipelines for data analysis using multimodal models
8. Conduct market research to identify existing tools to solve a problem

Note:

1. Experience with React.js, Python (Flask), SQL, Pandas, Numpy, charts.js, d3.js
2. Experience building and deploying websites and web applications
3. Experience using git and version control
4. Experience with bash and shell scripting
5. Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelors or masters degree in computer engineering, information technology, or a related STEM field with demonstrable programming experience
6. Experience working on a team

Preferred Qualifications

AWS (EC2, S3), GCP (Compute VMs, Cloud Storage, BigQuery)

Systems Design experience or ability to learn how to build systems to analyze data at scale.

Prior work within a high-performing team is a plus.

Prior research experience is a plus.

Knowledge of agile software development practices is a plus.

Experience with Android or iOS app development is a plus.

Problem-solving abilities:

You will be responsible for engineering systems to collect and analyze data ranging from 10 - 100 GB. We expect you to know that pandas alone isnt always going to cut it and be aware of how to leverage parallel computing libraries, multithreading, and existing libraries that allow you to scale your data analysis.

Ability to solve challenging technical problems including collecting data from social platforms using APIs and custom web scrapers.

You may need to understand and learn technologies like AWS Lambda, DuckDB, and debug issues that arise (with due support from the team).

Additional information

Stipend structure: This is a performance-based internship. In addition to the minimum-assured stipend, you will also be paid a performance-linked incentive (₹ 5000 per project).
