Bala Mandir started in 1949, and it is today a premier social welfare organization that has, over the years, sheltered thousands of orphans and destitute and socio-economically deprived children. Besides a children's home, Bala Mandir runs schools for the needy section and supports children with intellectual disabilities. Kinship Care Programme. This program was launched in July 2021 as a fallout of the then-raging COVID-19 pandemic to support children who lost one or both parents, which left them in the care of a mother or kith and kin. We started supporting the children through dedicated field social workers by paying their tuition fees and helping the children and families in various ways.
