About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain database management systems, primarily PostgreSQL.
2. Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and other optimization techniques.
3. Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and database schema designs for better performance.
4. Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
5. Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively identifying and addressing issues to prevent downtime.
6 Schedule and automate routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and migrations.
7 Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data.
8 Participate in database design and architecture discussions to ensure scalability and reliability.
9 Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues reported by users or identified during monitoring.
10 Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration.

Who can apply

1. Candidates with minimum 2 years of experience.

Other requirements

1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.

3. Strong knowledge of database concepts, including normalization, indexing, and query optimization.

4. Experience with database backup and recovery solutions, such as pg_dump, mysqldump, or third-party tools.

5. Proficiency in SQL programming and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.

6. Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools such as pgAdmin, MySQL Workbench, or Datadog.

7. Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and version control.

8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

10. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
